SKAI Intelligence and Seoul National University AI Institute Partner on Physical AI Research through MOU

SKAI Intelligence Launches Joint Research with Seoul National University AI Institute to Advance Physical AI Technology
SKAI Intelligence, a digital twin and synthetic data solutions provider, announced on June 4 that it has entered into a strategic partnership with the Seoul National University AI Institute (AIIS) to conduct joint research aimed at advancing Physical AI technologies, which are expected to become a key driver of the future robotics industry.
Through the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the two organizations will accelerate the development of Physical AI technologies that enable robots to perceive visual information, make autonomous decisions, and perform precise human-like movements. The collaboration will focus on enhancing the core intelligence capabilities that determine robotic task success across a wide range of industrial environments.
SKAI Intelligence has established a robust infrastructure for generating industrial-grade synthetic data by leveraging NVIDIA Omniverse-based digital twin technology. The company converts real-world objects and environments into highly accurate digital assets and recreates them in physics-based virtual environments, enabling immediate use for Physical AI training and development.
Building upon these capabilities, the partnership aims to develop core Physical AI vision technologies that allow robots to understand visual information and translate perception into action. The joint research will also focus on advanced robotic perception and manipulation technologies, including object recognition, pose estimation, and precision grasping in diverse industrial scenarios.
The two institutions plan to collaborate on government-funded R&D projects, researcher exchanges, and the acquisition of large-scale computing resources required for AI model training and inference. SKAI Intelligence will further provide its synthetic data generation pipeline to support the advancement of next-generation Physical AI technologies.
Through this collaboration, the partners will generate highly realistic training data and provide high-fidelity 3D CAD models, training and evaluation datasets, and data annotation resources to improve robotic perception accuracy and advance Sim-to-Real technologies.
“During the Physical AI era, the ability to accurately digitize real-world environments and transform them into high-quality training data will become a critical competitive advantage,” said Jaecheol Lee, CEO of SKAI Intelligence. “By combining SKAI Intelligence’s expertise in digital twins and synthetic data with the research capabilities of the Seoul National University AI Institute, we aim to accelerate the commercialization of world-class robotics AI technologies.”
