SKAI Intelligence CEO Jaecheol Lee appeared on KBS's business program Moneyolla Beyond Biz to discuss the paradigm shift in the Physical AI industry and the critical role of data infrastructure in enabling next-generation autonomous systems.
During the interview, Lee explained that most industrial robots today remain at the automation stage, performing predefined tasks repeatedly. He emphasized that the next phase of industrial intelligence is autonomy, where robots can perceive changes in their environment, understand unexpected situations, and make decisions independently. According to Lee, Physical AI lies at the center of this transformation.
Physical AI is a next-generation AI technology that enables robots, autonomous vehicles, and smart manufacturing systems to perceive, understand, and interact with the physical world while making context-aware decisions. To deploy such systems in real industrial environments, however, massive amounts of high-quality data and training environments that accurately reflect real-world conditions are essential.
Lee identified Digital Twins and Synthetic Data as the foundational infrastructure of the Physical AI era. He explained that commercializing Physical AI depends on a Real–Sim–Real development workflow, in which real-world data is accurately replicated in virtual environments, diverse scenarios are simulated for AI training, and the trained models are then validated in real-world operations.
The program also introduced the background and significance of SKAI Intelligence's participation as a Main Contributor to the Physical AI white paper jointly published by ABB Robotics and NVIDIA.
The white paper presents data architectures and digital engineering methodologies required to deploy Physical AI in high-precision manufacturing. SKAI Intelligence was recognized as a key contributor for its expertise in industrial digital twin and synthetic data technologies.
